Greetings to all Youth Ministers, Children's Ministers, and Family Ministers! My name is Denyse Steen and I am the Spiritual Life Chairperson on the 2011-2012 ECW Diocesan Board. I am in the process of planning the 2012 ECW retreat. Having said that, if you are not a female, you may want to consider the men's conference! If you have a special female in your life and would like to share this information, I would greatly appreciate it! I, too, was once a DCE at St Thomas in North Charleston. Having worked in that kind of ministry, I understand what it is to "feed" people Biblical knowledge and give others my time and love. I also understand what it is to "need to be fed." Sometimes we get so busy helping and caring for others, we don't even know we are hungry! But the harsh truth that comes when we don't take time to be still with God and receive His spiritual food is this…God equips us to minister, but if we are constantly giving (feeding) and not making time to receive (eating), we will be of no benefit to God and His kingdom. God's plan for all of us is to take time to be alone with Him. Please take time and ask God if it is your time to be still with Him. Pray about attending the women's retreat at Camp St. Christopher from March 2-4, 2012. Joanne Ellison will teach us how to grow as women in Christ's kingdom by studying the book of James. This is wonderful food that will bring much satisfaction to your lives. I am very aware that there are youth events in February and in March. I know your time is of great value to you and your families. I completely get that. But if you're tired and on the way to burn-out in the name of the Lord…please find time to be with Him!
