Well our Dare program has made the news! The story of our Dare program was in the most recent issue of the Jubilate Deo! Since then we have been contacted by Episcopal and non Episcopal churches alike. I have been to speak at St. David's in Cheraw to their Men's Club and have forwarded my information on to two other churches. They were all touched by our story, the Christian work of all of you. I continue to get feedback from our parishioners who are still working on their DARES and some have even taken a second card. Way to go St. Matthew's!
If you loved the DARE cards and want to continue to show Christ in your daily life, Volunteer. We have a couple of members who have found a volunteer calling through their DARE. In addition I have posted cards on the bulletin board in the Ramsey Building. Please pull a card for any organization that you find of interest and call to volunteer. In particular we have found The Kid's Closet is in great need of volunteers. Four women started our Darlington closet. Due to personal reasons two are no longer active in the ministry. This leaves two working moms to try and juggle the responsibility. They are desperate for volunteers to sort and hang clothes on Thursdays from 3-6. In addition they could use some shoppers to pick up items that they need. If you are interested in helping please contact Whitney DeMaurice at 206-2374 or Wanda Scharstein at 616-0171. They would LOVE to hear from you.
