Vacation Bible School 2025: Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift – Yeehaw!

What a joyful, high-energy, boot-scootin’ week we had at St. Matthew’s for this year’s Vacation Bible School! With the theme “Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift – Yeehaw!”, our church was transformed into a country-style celebration of God’s love, filled with laughter, music, and more cowboys and cowgirls  than we could count.

Each day focused on the greatest gift of all—Jesus—and how we can live our lives rooted in His love. From Bible storytelling and crafts to music, games, and snacks, the kids stayed busy while learning what it means to be part of God’s family.

Adding extra fun and faith were our unforgettable guests: Rawhide the Rancher and his “twin brother” (also named Rawhide). Their skits were full of Western wisdom, good-natured humor, and reminders of how God’s love never runs dry—even in the wildest of frontiers!

We ended the week with Family Day on Saturday, where parents were invited for a cookout and entertainment from our ranchers.   The children sang their hearts out, danced with confidence, and reminded us all of the joy found in faith. The celebration continued with food, fellowship, a bouncy house, a water balloon game and plenty of time to connect and share stories from the week.

It’s been years since we’ve had this many children in VBS—and what a blessing it was! The joy was contagious, and we’re already dreaming up ideas for next year.

To every volunteer, parent, child, and behind-the-scenes helper: YEEHAW and THANK YOU for helping us celebrate God’s greatest gift with such heart and spirit!

With saddle-up joy,
The VBS Team

Low Country Boil Fundraiser for the Purple Fish Coffee Company 5/17/2025

We extend our deepest thanks to George Stoddard and friends for volunteering their time and talent to cook a delicious Low Country Boil in support of our outreach ministry, The Purple Fish Coffee Company.

Special thanks to Carolina Crossroads for providing uplifting music that brought joy to the evening, and to our generous church members who donated a wonderful array of desserts.

It truly took a village of helping hands to make this event such a success—we are grateful for each and every one of you who contributed!
