The Men’s Ministry sponsors a breakfast once a month at 9:00 on Sunday. They invite guest speakers to talk about their ministries in our community. The Men’s group also has a pancake supper on Ash Wednesday to benefit local charities.
All Women at St. Matthew’s are members of Women’s Ministry. We meet once a month, usually on the 4th Sunday at 9:00 AM. Our big fundraiser this year was the BBQ Cook-off and Bake Sale. We raised enough to give to four local charities. Women’s Ministry sponsors a bible study at the Purple Fish on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 AM. We have some events scheduled for 2019. There will be a Women’s Quiet Day on March 30th at St. Barts in Hartsville. Our women ministry group is part of the Anglican Women of the Diocese of South Carolina. The Anglican Women sponsor one day and weekend long retreats. Both Janet and Tracy hold positions on the Anglican Women of the Diocese of South Carolina board. Upcoming Anglican Women events: May 4- Annual Gathering, October 25-27 is the fall retreat at Camp St. Christopher.
Daughters of The King
The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. Today our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.
The Joanna Chapter of the Daughters of the King at St Matthews meets twice a month. We also have a JR DOK at St. Matthews. Any girl ages 7-21 are welcome in the JR DOK. If you would like to get in touch with our DOK, call the church office(see below) and we will return your call.
