Message from your Rector:
"When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place." Acts 2:1

They were the first fellowship of believers. The apostles returned to Jerusalem after the Ascension of Jesus, and cast lots for another witness to replace Judas and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Being identified as a witness for Christ means more than showing up for quarterly meetings, occasionally voting for preservation, and having your picture in the newspaper. The apostles would ultimately pay their membership dues in blood. But like Jesus, they willingly stood firm in their faith, knowing that no matter what, their salvation was secure and their home was paid for.

This Sunday we celebrate God's gift of the Holy Spirit resting on and filling the community of believers becoming living witnesses of the Gospel to all nations.

It is fortunate that new guidelines suggest those who have already been vaccinated can gather again with masks being optional. (An infilling of the Holy Spirit can't hurt either!). Invite a friend to Church!

The Parish Life committee will have box lunches ready for our courtyard picnic immediately after the 11am service. We need a headcount to be sufficient but not wasteful. Please call the Church Office with your name and number of people coming with you. If you are uncomfortable in larger gatherings at this time, take home your boxed lunch.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." Acts 2:42

I've heard it said, 90% of being the body of Christ is showing up!

In the Love of Christ to all,
Rags+
